No gas in the hallway. No 60 lb box on a fourth-floor walk-up unless you asked for it. Apartment backup is weight, noise, closet volume, and a UPS that keeps the modem up so you can still get the outage map.

Jackery 1000 v2 lists 30 dB; 2000 v2 <30 dB (45 dB at full load). EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus: 30 dB under 600 W. DELTA 3 Max Plus: ≤25 dB at 600 W. AC200L manual: 50 dB max. Quiet claims are at specified loads and distances — not “silent always.”
No combustion
Portable LFP stations belong indoors in a way a gasoline inverter does not. That is the whole apartment argument. Charge from a wall before the storm; solar is a balcony problem with HOA rules and limited sun.

- One outlet, many loads. Put the modem/ONT and a lamp on the UPS/bypass path if the brand documents it. Fridges can live on a second AC outlet on the same box.
- Charge before the storm. EcoFlow Storm Guard (app preset) auto-starts charging on weather alerts — Classic and Plus comparison tables list it. Jackery Super Charge is a manual/app mode.
- HOA / balcony solar. Jackery 1000/2000 v2 max solar 400 W; AC180 500 W; DELTA 3 Plus 1,000 W. Portable panels still need sun and a place that is not a fire escape.
- Do not backfeed. No suicide cords into a wall receptacle. Transfer equipment is a building/electrician conversation, not a 1 kWh brick.
